Happy New Year from the ACLC!
2017 has been an unpredictable and exciting year! Here are some of the events and campaigns the ACLC is working on going into 2018.
"Health care must be recognized as a right, not a privilege. Every man, woman and child in our country should be able to access the health care they need regardless of their income. The only long-term solution to America's health care crisis is a single-payer national health care program."
- Bernie Sanders

Make sure you sign the petition asking Senator Bill Nelson and Senator Marco Rubio to co-sponsor Bernie Sanders' Medicare for All bill.

Petitions are available at Alachua County Labor Coalition events.
You can also fill out a petition online and bring it to an ACLC event or drop it off at the ACLC office (901 NW 8th Ave., Suite A1).

Our monthly Just Health Care monthly meeting will take place tomorrow, Jan. 2nd, 6pm at the ACLC office.
Upcoming Events:
Join the Alachua County Labor Coalition in our first Living Wage Campaign meeting of 2018. We'll be going over our campaign to pressure the 10 largest employers to pay a living wage by 2020, focusing on our work with OPS employees at the University of Florida and Santa Fe College.  The meeting will take place at the Civic Media Center (433 S. Main St., Gainesville) and the Facebook event listing is here if you'd like to invite others.

This is a planning meeting for our January 27th demonstration against Ted Yoho's second largest donor, Crime Prevention Security Systems.  The meeting will take place at the ACLC office (901 NW 8th Ave, Suite A1), and the Facebook listing is here if you'd like to invite others.

Come share your passion, organizing and sign-making skills.
Frustrated at not being able to make a dent in influencing the many pieces of outrageous legislation our Congressmen Ted Yoho continues to support?

We at the Labor Coalition have found one thing that seems to get his attention: we picket his large local donors.

In the summer, Yoho was furious at our demonstration against Exactech. Now we have our eye set on his second largest donor, Crime Prevention Security Systems.
So save the date, especially those of you who will make New Years Resolutions to become more dedicated activists.
Upcoming Political Conferences
Email info@laborcoalition.org with your name and contact information if you are interested in attending either of these conferences.  We would like to have a delegation of ACLC members at both events.
We'd like to thank the following folks for their membership in the Labor Coalition: Roberta Gastmeyer, Rick & Sandi Trachsel, Michelle and Chris Ott, Eileen and Russ Roy, Melanie Barr, Mary Bahr, & Marilyn Eisenberg.

We hope that you will bring in the New Year by becoming a member of the Labor Coalition.  We are 100% funded by member contributions--no government grants or corporate funding here!  Our annual members and Committee of 100 supporters keep the lights on.
